E-commerce is a new trend that allows us to sell strategically and securely to our customers in Colombia and abroad, boosting sales and facilitating business management. During the preventive isolation period, Decree 457 of 2020 provides, among the exceptions, that companies may ship products sold through e-commerce through postal service companies and collaborative economy companies, a very useful tool for exporting from the Free Trade Zone.
How to make this type of departure from ZFO?
Through the export method of postal traffic and express shipments, provided that their value does not exceed five thousand dollars (US$5.000) and they require expedited delivery to the recipient.
Supports:
1. Postal traffic transport document or specialized courier company guide. The description box of the express courier guide issued by the express shipping intermediary must indicate the number and date of the goods movement form, and the sender must indicate the free zone user exporting via postal traffic and express shipments.
2. Merchandise movement form approved by the Operator User. For postal traffic and urgent shipments, the exchange rate will be the one in effect on the last business day of the week prior to the merchandise's arrival date.
Requirements:
1. Each package exported must have a label attached containing the following information: name and address of the sender, name of the specialized courier company, name and address of the consignee, description and quantity of the goods, value expressed in dollars, and gross weight of the package expressed in kilograms.
2. Goods requiring approval, licenses, or authorizations for shipment abroad must demonstrate compliance with these requirements when submitting the corresponding Export Declarations to Customs. 3. The goods are delivered in the Free Trade Zone to the intermediary for this modality (a company authorized by MINCIT) and remain under their responsibility.
