The aim of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) is to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of Eco-Industrial Park approaches to increase resource productivity and improve the economic, environmental and social performance of companies.
GEIPP contributes to inclusive and sustainable industrial development in participating developing and transition economies.
Since 1994, UNIDO has partnered with developing countries and economies in transition with the objective of increasing the competitiveness and productive capacity of industry, specifically small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Swiss Embassy's Economic Cooperation and Development Programme (SECO) has substantially supported these efforts for more than 20 years.
On Tuesday 27 August at the premises of ZONA FRANCA DE OCCIDENTE, in the presence of Lizeth Olaya Zambrano: National Coordinator GEIPP-Colombia of UNIDO, was signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Commitment to participate in the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme, intervention at country level Colombia in charge of UNIDO.
